- Aimed from a mount that turns on its own: the unit fires in any direction without turning its hull, and can keep firing on the move. A fixed gun has to face its target first. The round steers after its target in flight and lands on it however it moves. An unguided round is fired at where the target is heading, and can miss.

The SAM Site is the upgraded AA Turret: long-range guided missiles that own the airspace around it. Its range covers most of a base from a single pad, and a Nuclear Warhead has to answer to it.
How to use
Upgrade the AA turrets near your power and factories the moment the enemy builds an Advanced Airbase. Each missile deals 170 damage; most healthy aircraft need repeated hits. Two SAM Sites with overlapping coverage punish bombing runs and gunships that linger. It still cannot see submarines or touch ground units; it is one layer of a defense, not a defense on its own.
Against a Nuclear Silo the placement changes. A warhead is a far harder kill than an airframe, and each missile still deals 170 damage to it. It flies a straight line from the launcher, so what counts is how long a site holds it inside those ten tiles: two sites spread along the approach bring one down short of the target, where three bunched over the aim point do not, because those only see the last stretch of the flight. Once the enemy has a silo, push a pair of SAM Sites out toward it rather than adding another to the ring at home.
