The Pelican Transport Helicopter airlifts two points of cargo weight anywhere on the map: two light vehicles or one heavier vehicle. It is unarmed but sturdy for an aircraft.
How to use
Drop a tank destroyer on a cliff above the enemy's approach, land two engineers on an island deposit, or evacuate a damaged light tank. Order units aboard as with a Landing Craft. It flies low, so machine guns, autocannons and the roof guns on Bisons and Mammoths reach it as well as anti-air: fly around all of them, not over them, and unload outside turret range. Two Pelicans can put a small strike team behind an enemy base long before its tanks get there. A loaded Pelican shot down takes everything aboard with it, so plan the flight in, not the flight out.
Anecdotes
The most-produced helicopter in history is the Mil Mi-8: more than seventeen thousand of them, hauling troops, freight, casualties and mail on every continent for sixty years. Transport is never the story, and it is always why there was one.
