- Aimed from a mount that turns on its own: the unit fires in any direction without turning its hull, and can keep firing on the move. A fixed gun has to face its target first.

The Orca is temporarily unavailable from naval-yard build menus. Existing ships and authored scenarios retain it; the Aegis Frigate now combines the fleet’s AA and ASW escort roles.
The Orca Destroyer is the submarine hunter: a surface ship with sonar, torpedoes and a heavy naval gun. Without sonar, enemy submarines are invisible and untouchable.
How to use
One Orca leading a fleet reveals submarines for everyone; two make the sea safe. Its gun is strong against ships and shoreline buildings, so it also anchors a bombardment group. Its gun is dual-purpose and fires at aircraft at a little over half its damage: enough that helicopters pay for hunting it, not enough against Albatrosses, whose missiles outrange it, so bring a Frigate for those. Its torpedoes need open water all the way to the target: with a spit or a reef in between it holds them and comes round by the sea. Its hull is wider than a tile: it needs two tiles of water abeam and cannot follow a gunboat through a channel a tile wide.
Anecdotes
“Destroyer” is short for torpedo boat destroyer: a ship built in the 1890s for the single purpose of killing the small cheap boats that were sinking battleships. It then took the torpedoes for itself, and kept the name.
