- Aimed from a mount that turns on its own: the unit fires in any direction without turning its hull, and can keep firing on the move. A fixed gun has to face its target first. The round steers after its target in flight and lands on it however it moves. An unguided round is fired at where the target is heading, and can miss.

The Hawk fires long-range guided missiles at aircraft and nothing else. Where the Flak Track defends a column, the Hawk denies a whole stretch of sky.
How to use
Two or three Hawks behind an army make bombers and gunships unaffordable for the enemy: they die on the approach. Pair with Flak, so that Hawks kill the big, expensive aircraft while Flak handles the cheap swarm. It is helpless against ground forces, so keep it escorted and behind the front.
Anecdotes
The MIM-23 Hawk's name is a backronym: Homing All the Way Killer. Somebody plainly picked the bird first and reverse-engineered the words, and it stayed in service for over fifty years regardless.
