The Bison Battle Tank is the core of every armored push from the moment the Advanced War Factory finishes. Heavy armor, a splash-damage cannon and a reasonable price make it the unit you build when you do not know what else to build.
How to use
Form the front line with Bisons and put specialists behind them: tank destroyers for enemy heavies, flak for air, artillery for turrets. Attack-move rather than move so they engage on the way. A 12.7 mm machine gun on the turret roof fires at helicopters and Hornets within 4.5 tiles, on a target of its own, so the cannon stays on what it is shooting; it never engages jets or bombers. It stings a helicopter that closes in, but one standing off at its missiles' reach is beyond it, and Bisons are slow enough to be kited by helicopters and out-ranged by artillery, so never push without anti-air and scouting.
Anecdotes
The “main battle tank” exists because armies got tired of buying three kinds. Britain's Centurion showed that one vehicle could do the light tank's scouting, the medium's fighting and most of the heavy's punching, and everyone copied it.
